aramat57 Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 Southport is a lovely area. The town is historic, many lovely streets. They have a marsh park there, can't remember the name, but it has a trail through some salt marsh from the marina. Ride the ferry across to Fort Fisher and the NC Aquarium. Carolina Beach State Park isn't far from there. Also Old Baldy lighthouse is accessible from the ferry.
