elu_guru
Hello I am photographing glass bottles (wine, beer) on a white surface. I am using a shoot through umbrella behind and on top of the bottles, and a few reflectors on the sides. The results I' m getting are good, the only problem being that at the bottom sides of the bottles, the fine edges are lost and flooded. Any suggestions? brooks short
The bottom sides of the glass bottles are reflecting your light source bouncing off the white surface adjacent to the bottles. If you're shooting these bottles on white so they can be stripped out of their bkgd the solution is easy. Place black cards on the table surface just to the sides of the bottles. You might also want to stand some black cards behind and just to the sides of the bottles to help seperate them from the white background.
marc schneider dc metro
Rather than setting the setting the bottles directly on a white surface, you can lift the bottles up, e.g. placing them on glass above the white surface and place gobos below the bottle to prevent the reflected light from bouncing up and illuminating the bottle.
