s._c.
This is not a joke. I have to photograph women's feet. I was asked to do a calender for a women's organization for podiatry. We are trying to get ideas for different themes for the seasons. I think I will be using my hasselblad with my 150 sonnar and some proxars. Any recommendations? Should I consider digital for calender print output? There is probably a tight budget for this. I am just trying to get some thoughts together, so thank you for your constructive recommendations. kevin_hundsnurscher
Make sure to try to have the feet at least somewhat pointed to accentuate the arches. It adds a great deal of dramaticism to the form.

mdanger
I saw your question last night and thought i would check in today to see what strange answers you would get. Hmm. None. I just want to add that to make appealing pictures dealing with feminine features, I would definitely go out and buy the big fall editions of the fashion magazines. You should be able to find many different themes and current fashion photo styles there. Couldn't hurt. Mary
b_kosoff
There are models who specialize in hands and feet. If you are in an area where there are modeling agencies contact them and arrange for a "go see" and have them send over foot models for you to see and check out their feet. If you don''t have access to model agencies make certain that you have the non professional models not wear tight shoes or anything that might leave any lines on their feet as these lines can take hours to go away. what ever you do check out their feet well in advance of the shoot. Obviously a pedicure prior to the shoot is a must. You will also have to ask the client if they want nail polish and what color. Also be aware that as the model stands the veins on the feet become more pronounced so it is necessary to have the models elevate their feet in close proximity to the set, in between rolls or even exposures. Digital would work fine for this project especially if the models are not parts model professionals and will require some retouching.
c.j.magson
For October (Halloween) how bout X-rays?
s._c.
X-rays are certainly possible. One of the girls already suggested Frankenfeet. Christmas could be Mr. and Mrs. Claus surrounded by eight elves. Spring months could be toes surrounded by bouquet of flowers. These are just some of the ideas I am thinking about so far. Thanks.
