wigwam jones
Warning, graphic images. This is a newspaper story about an award-winning automotive photographer who changed course and began to take photographs of auto crashes and the victims, families, and survivors. He obtains permission and shoots from a 'don't let this happen to you' sort of perspective. Very interesting, I thought. Hopefully, the sky spirits agree. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/viewarticle.aspx?articleid=2218792§ionid=
phoneguy
Good story. This strikes close to home for me, as, I lost my fiance' 3 years ago to a drunk driver who ran a red light at a high rate of speed. Thanks for the link.

Uncle Goose
This is not the first guy who did it, there's a book called Car Crashes & Other Sad Stories by Mell Kilpatrick. This guy did the same back in the 50's when safety was not yet invented in cars. I once had a copy but a the brother of my (h)ex-wife stole it from me. philscbx
I teach motorcycle safety for more than 35 years. The very first topic that is slammed into their brains is:Green doesn't mean Go.Red doesn't mean Stop. To prove my point. Be the first one in line at a stop light. It just now turned Green, but not two seconds earlier, it was Green for them.A forty ton train on rubber wheels is too close when their light changed to Red. You see Green and assume to punch it.You now look out side window, and in 0.02 seconds, the train is now inside your car.But You feel no pain, as the colors change to brilliant white. Here is second stage of teaching young ones with less than one week of milage.I take them out side with a full open can of Coke. As they start to open the car door, I have them wait one moment till I pour outthe contents on the ground. I then say, This is what will happen if You challenge a forty ton train at any point.I then drop the can, and with one quick impact, the can is flat. That's You inside the can.Any questions? Make sure Son's and Daughters understand the total dynamics.Semi's are not a Porsche. Trains (Semi's) take 1000 more feet to stop or more than a car.Green doesn't mean Go. Ever. Make sure City Officials make changes to unsafe intersections that are timed to Kill.If one returns to intersection where accidents occur more than once. You will see it'stimed to do so.
