hugon
There's a new site up called <ahref="http://www.photobookguide.com/">Photobookguide.
From their homepage: There are, however, millions of photographs inthousands of out-of-print photobooks that may pass fans of photographyby. Could a single shelf full of these books contain more photographicinspiration than many days of internet browsing? An attempt to answerthat question is the premise of PhotobookGuide.com. thomas_sullivan
excellent site...actually, via the internet, I have known the author of this site for many years. He takes many excellent images of his own, but he always impressed me with his knowledge of art and photography books. I may not agree with all his choices, but he does know how to review photographic images....a true critic, not necessarily always right...heh....but he explains his point of view much better than most can explain theirs. a site well worth bookmarking. thomas_sullivan
...and, I talked with him recently, and he recommended a book to me....knowing my likings. It's Raymond Meeks: Sound of Summer Running. Click on Photography Monographs and then look for the book. Unfortunately, it's a limitted edition 1000 book printiing. And Nazraeli Press's normal online store had to defer me to Portland, OR to obtain a copy....which I just got yesterday........EXCELLENT book! To get an idea of the style....which is right up my alley....here are some sites

Perich Gallery

Jackson Fine Art

Photo-Eye

nick_wilson2
A 'definitive' guide with only European, North American and Japanese photography? Jeez. I suppose including Japanese photography is the cosmopolitan, worldly 'definitive' bit.
