rick_gerbehy1
Expect delivery today on a K10. I downloaded the manual and the spec sheet gives info for up to 4GB SD cards. Will an 8GB card work in the K10?Thanks

jgredline
Wow, I use a 2 gig cards and it is extremely rare for me to fill one up. Then again it depends on what your shooting.
hagar
Try shooting RAW DNG in the K20d.. 20 mb a file + the jpeg .. lucky if you get 80 pics out of a 2 gig card :-)
markus maurer
I use 8GB Class 6 cards from Apacer now with the K10D and 4GB Apacer compact flash in the *istD, these sizes have the best prices/value ratio here at the moment and give me plenty of space in RAW mode. Had to update the *istD to the latest firmware for >2GB.
markus maurer
BTW, has anybody used the "Patriot" 16GB or 32GB Class 6 cards with the K10D? They claim some interesting features like low power usage & wear levelling I have not seen "advertised" with other brands but at a price nearly too good to be true? mcmanamey
We only trust Sandisk anymore. We use 8G cards and shooting in RAW, we have yet to fill the card in each camera at a wedding.
mountainvisions
I prefer 2-4GB cards. I mean even shooting sports or events 4GB of RAW is a lot of images with a 3FPS camera. Although very rarely a corrupted card cannot be recovered, cards do occasionally fail. It would suck to have 500 RAW files on a 8GB card!!! I hesitantly went to 4GB with the idea that fiddling with cards in the cold, on cliff edges or in the wind was just not a good idea. However, even on a enthusiastic day of shooting I can't usually fill one up in PEF. And frankly, if I carry a few 4GBs if there are fewer than 50 images remaining, I'll often switch it out in the tent at night with a fresh card. The other advantage of Non SDHC cards is they are backwards compatible. My wifes point and shoot doesn't take SDHC, and my ist D will take SD cards with an eagle tec adapter. This makes things convenient since I don't need to buy a ton of CF cards. Of course with Nikon using CF in it's upper end cameras it gave my CF cards new life, and also caused me to by more CF memory, so the eagle tec gets used less often! ianmaleny
Patriot cards - I have a 4 gig class 6 unit, it is very good. One of the fastest cards I own, for a class 6. If I remember rightly it writes at around 10 -11 mb/s.
