Pentax 6x7 - How to fire shutter with no film and door open

Hi All -

The header pretty much says it all.....how can I cock and fire the

shutter on a 6x7 with no film and the door open?

I searched the archives here and didn't find anything.

BTW, anyone ever tried installing a Beattie screen by themselves?

Pentax won't do it, and my usual camera guy is not available right

now. I have a method worked out, but I'm sure I could benefit from

your experience.

How to fire shutter with no film and door open

#1: Cock camera with no film by the following method:

- Open back door

<p>

- Turn film counter dial to number midway (e.g., about 5) and hold

<p>

- Close door

<p>

- Cock shutter

<p>

<p>

#2: Open back door after shutter cocked and you can fire it.
