Panasonic G3, 14-42 zoom + Nikon 50/1.4 lens - worth it?

<p>That's basically it, the deal is about $450 ( I am in Israel) which is about $200 less than the retail price minus the Nikon prime.</p>

<p>My main concern is that the IQ may not be on a par with the D300 + 60/2.8 (Im hoping for better)</p>

<p>I have Nikon d(SLR)s and lenses so it may be a good fit, with the aim of trading my D300 towards purchase of a good Oly or Panasonic lens.</p>

<p>No idea what Israeli prices are, but the G3 (which I use and like a lot) is a couple of versions old at this point. $650 for that body body and kit lens sounds way high to me.</p>

<p>Hi Marc. <br /><br />Yeah, the new price is insane, but that's how it is outside of the US. <br /><br />Anyway, I bought the kit + 50/1.4 Nikon AI-S for $450. Shot a few hundred frames over the weekend and will post my comments later on the forum. I really like this camera.</p>
