aaron_lam
This little device announced by Palm today: http://www.palmone.com/us/products/mobilemanagers/lifedrive/?cid=20050518_LifeDrive Does anyone know if it can read raw format like the Epson device... i.e. Canon / Nikon raw files? Thanks! aaron
phule
With only 4GB of storage, I don't think RAW shooters are their market. However, if you drop in the SD card, I don't see why it couldn't copy everything off. There is brief mention of a "multiconnector" which may allow you to teather the device to a camera, but that's speculation on my part. You'll probably have to contact them directly. peter_phan
This Life Drive product only holds four GB of data! That's way too small for serious photo storage, in my opinion, especially compared to the Epson P-2000 which holds forty GB of data for the price. larrybc
There's been no mention of a RAW reader for it. Palm has said they will release, probably in June, a USB adapter device that will let the LifeDrive connect to cameras that don't use SD cards and xfer their files to the LifeDrive. I don't see this being a viable alternative to a dedicated photo storage device. However, if you're a Palm PDA user, it would be handy to have the extra few GB of space just in case. larry
