steve_west
if anyone is interested i posted some info about embedding meta copyright data into images over here. i thought it might be relevant to those wanting to put a name on their work in the W/NW threads without compromising aesthetics. EricM
cheers Steve. i understand all meta data gets wiped if I, or anyone, 'save for web'?
absinthe
Oooh, its not foolproof (what is?), but this is good info, thanks!
steve_west
that's right. tho' in theory it shouldn't as the options for output settings in the save for web dialogue window have a check box option to include copyright info, but even checked 'on' it gets wiped. it would be nice if the plug-in allowed the data to be locked down somehow but.... anyway, you can add the meta-data after you've saved for the web so the compression will affect the image quality as desired and you'll still retain your © data. but still won't be able to upload from a hardrive in this format... fwstutterheim
but still won't be able to upload from a hardrive in this format...

This will depend on the server you are uploading to. I does work with services like www.rollei-gallery.net. In case the picture is tagged, the xmf-info is shown.
