rachelle_m.
Hi all, I just received a Gevabox (similar to this one: http://www.kensmithart.com/gevabox.htm ) that I recently bought online and I'm having a tough time figuring out how to open it. From what I can gather, one whole side pops off (the side with the winder, not the shutter side). I can get part of the side to open, but it feels like something is hooked to the other side preventing it from coming off completely (there's an old film in the camera that I finished off unknowinly while I fooled around with the focusing and the shutter). I don't want to force it in case there's soemthing else I should be doing or pressing first, although there doesn't appear to be any other buttons to press. Should the side come off quite easily? I'd appreciate any advice before I ruin it completely ;-) Thanks.
gene m
Hold the camera in your right hand with the lens facing you. There's a big button on the left that needs to be pushed to the rear. Then you can pull open the right side. The entire interior pops out.
patrick j dempsey
AND, be sure to check out some of Gene's photos with it... he's got a great website of images shot with all kinds of interesting box cameras and other fun stuff: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=009yYx http://westfordcomp.com/holga/index.html
rachelle_m.
Thanks Gene -- I knew that big button had to be for something! ;-) It was actually quite stiff and needed a big push to move it (I didn't want to force it when I didn't know what it was for). Found some Adox R17 film inside -- can't wait to process it and see what's on it!
