brandonhamilton
Hey guys, I am curious as to what you all recommend for for a digital Pro-Lab I can use either via sending a CD, or uploading the images. The only two that I know of are Adorama and pictopia.com, but honestly I don't think I like either. I see nothing but complaints about Adoramas Pro lab, as far as the eye can see, and pictopias prices are SO far out of wack, im not even willing to try them out. Is there anybody else out there that is usuing a high level digital pro lab? Maybe something that better then adorama, but cheaper then pictopia? www.whitemountainphoto.com
westcoastimaging.com Great lab, great people, quality work, and first class service...and no I don't work for them, but they've really impressed me, and I'm fussy.
brandonhamilton
Thanks for the tip, but their prices are INSANE. Much more expensive then even pictopia. Would be cheaper to buy your own 7600 printer, and print for 1$ a square foot.

www.whitemountainphoto.com
Brandon - "Their prices are insane"... I might have mentioned that I always use the preflight order, meaning that I do all the scanning, color correcting and ps work myself. If I buy two prints at a time, I get my huge 12x35 pan prints done on crystal archive or epson papers for $19. That's the furthest thing from "insane", especially considering their quality. Have you ever tried printing a 35" image with alot of solid blue without getting one tiny spec of dust that falls on the paper before printing and then falls off. I have. Good luck, because you'll end up burning just as much money in ink and paper to get it right AND you'll be doing all the work.
brandonhamilton
Yes dana I have. I have had direct access to a 7600 for the past year, but no longer. At the prices this website sells prints for, a 7600 would pay for itself in a year, granted you do enough printing. 15$ for an 8X10 is EXTREMELY high. In order to make any money on such a print, you would need to sell taht for 30$. I hate to break it to you, but those prices are rediculous. I know, it never feels good to get burned. brandonhamilton
Thanks for the links Ethan! Fromax in San Diego looks PERFECt. A great balance between "pro" and price. Can't wait to try them out.
