jamiew
JUst a FYI for all you Olympus people. Olympus is offering a $300 discount on the E-1 kit (E-1 w/ 14-54 lens) if you trade in any old DSLR or 35mm SLR. From what I heard the value of the camera is not relevant. The Kit retails for about $2299 I beleive.
douglas_green1
Does the 35mm SLR need to be working? I have a couple of junkers worth around $10 each.
GerrySiegel
I just noticed that the kit price is now reduced to just under two thousand US dollars on line w/o this trade in thing. That puts it in the running with the popular Canon EOS 10D effectively. With a very well rated lens that seems to exceed what one can buy in the EOS w.o jumping to the L series, its certainly more attractive for new entrants. Unfortunately, Olympus accessories still seem a little high,-look at their small gizmos like cables and flash brackets and batteries. That never deterred Hasselblad buyers who always raved about their Softar filters and Hassy anythings. Olympus at least is now looking to get more market share in its category and that is good for the marketplace.
