bob_king2
Does anyone know whether this OM mount auto-focus lens is backward compatible with older OM bodies such as theOM-1 and OM-2? Apparently this lens was designed for use with the OM707 / OM77 camera model. Cheers, Bob

john_hermanson2
Will not fit, and I think there'd be no way to focus it. None of the lenses made for the 77,707, 88, 101 will fit plain OM bodies. John, www.zuiko.com
george_shihanian
I don't think there's even a manual focus ring, so no.
paul_poropat
There is no manual focusing ring. The OM-F controlled the focusing fully automatic, the OM-G had a power focus control on the body.
xato
There was a self-contained autofocus OM lens that worked on regular OM bodies that had the autofocus apparatus built inside the lens but I beleive that this was a f 4 lens so it would not be what you have. I've gently tried to put an AF lens on a manual OM body but the electronic contacts hit parts of the insides of the regular OM female mount. john_hermanson2
Yes, there was a 35-70 lens with built in AF assembly and motor. It could be used on any OM body. The 35-70 made for the 77 has no focus ring and had to be used on OM-77, 707, 88 or 101. . The OM-F (OM-30) had a viewfinder "in focus" LED but did not control auto focus. OM-88 (101) had power focus knob, OM-G (20) did not. I think OM-77 also had a power focus mode. John, www.zuiko.com
