This was part of a surprise Christmas present, almost a minibook, for her new husband. The image is about the look on her face. She is quite the hothead and is very animated.<p>
emre
On my monitor, (what I feel to be) important highlight detail is missing.
james___
Emre the print is much better as is usually the case with images posted to the net. The print has all the detail it needs to convey the information including the twinkle in her eyes. When I get better at posting images I will contribute more. This was meant to be a fun post for me as I have been here since the inception of PoP. Thanks to Brad again. What do you think jeff? Spearhead
I think it's a nice studio shot with the highlight problem mentioned above. I also wonder if she is standing with her feet like that or if she has shoes on. The pose is unconventional and interesting, as is the outfit. If you tamed down the bra (looks like it's electrified), I think it would be a fine photo. Music and Portraits Blog: Life in Portugal
todd frederick
I would like to see the whole book...one image keeps it out of context. Many photographers like to work with sequences...series of photographs that, as a whole, tell the story. This look like one nice image that has meaning only when we see the others. Technically: try a softer contrast paper or print it a bit darker. I think that would solve the "problem." I like to use textured off-white (Luminos) paper (Charcoal R) which is graded as a "2" and I think your photos would look truly elegant on that medium. struan_gray
I'm going to be a party pooper. She looks stiff and awkward. She seems to be standing on tip toe for no good reason, her hands are tense, but not really doing anything, and the look on her face implies she wasn't expecting you to trip the shutter at this particular moment. The line of her back and legs is just ugly. The lighting and layout is of very high quality, and I'm happy to make allowances for the scan, but the pose doesn't justify it's lack of conventionality. Sorry.
