r_scott_steube
I can't seem to find specific info on off-the-self filters that will fit in Canon's "Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm Screw-In Filters". My efforts so far searching photonet/web yield a lot about grinding your own filters... How about B+W's slim filters (3mm), do they fit..? This is for EF 300mm f/2.8L IS. Thanks! howard_grill
I have a 600 IS and use B&W Multicoated warming filters in the screw in filter holder with no problem at all and no filing or anything like that. As a matter of fact, I don't think they are even 'slim'. I am not sure about the 300 IS but suspect it is likely the same.
rayamos
I have the 500 IS and use 52mm B+W standard warming filters and they work fine. If anything, the B+W filters are thicker than most. I think any 52mm filter will work fine. Ray Amos
hari_ari
I use Hoya for the drop in filter in my 600. In particular Hoya Multi Coated for max light transmission. It is not worth skimping on cost of filters for theses lens.
