mtrejo6
I've seen tons of vendors offering leather flush mount albums but few that offer "imitation" leather. I've done some searching but besides Tuscany and Finao, do any of you have any good sources for nice "imitation" or faux leather options. I can show plenty of leather samples to potential clients but not all are into leather for some reason or another. Some don't want to spend the extra $$$ but others are just more enviromentally concerned. Whatever the reasons, I would just like to have plenty of options for my clients for all price ranges. NK Guy
I'm not a leather advocate here, but I would point out to clients that the environmental impact of fake leather is generally far higher than that of leather itself. Fake leather usually contains PVC or other vinyl compounds, which are extremely nasty for the environment. (PU or polyurethane fake leather is somewhat less nasty) If the customer is averse to the "killing animals" aspect of leather then there are a lot of heavy cardboard wrapped in paper or linen options, though they aren't as rugged as leather. I've also seen painted or lacquered wood, which can be nice.
surfidaho
Howdy! Premira albums are fake leather, they look great, they're easy to build, and they're repairable because the pages slide out.
