korin
Sigma EX DG 24-60mm f/2.8 AF DG EX Lens For Nikon. Anyone used this. And how does it compare to the Nikon AF-NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8 D. I have the prime but have always been unhappy with it.
rodeo_joe1
I know what you mean about the 24mm f/2.8 Nikkor. I have the MF Ai-S version, which has the same optics. The lens performs quite well under test - reasonably sharp and contrasty, good flare resistance and not too much distortion. And yet.... The pictures it gives are never very satisfying. There's something amiss I can't quite put my finger on. OTOH, I had a Sigma EX DG 24-70 f/2.8 from around the same period as the 24-60. I kept it just long enough to decide it was the softest and most horrible lens I'd ever come across before I returned it in exchange for a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 that's still an absolute delight to use. korin
Yeh yer right about the nikon. 24-60 is supposed to be a lot better than the sigma you mention.
