Mankuthel
Hello everyone..
After a long weekend, it's finally wednesday again!!
I was at the Notting Hill Carnival over the weekend, which is the second biggest after Rio. I was so trigger happy as I had not taken any pictures in a while and managed to get quite a lot of decent shots.
This picture is from the procession on Monday.

monika_epsefass
Yoohoo, it's Wednesday! Happy Wednesday everybody!
José, that bird is something pretty colourful! Nice!
I've been working on a participation for a competition: is this still photography, I wonder? The originals were all taken with Nikon D700 and 105/2.8, and then assembled in PS, but I consider myself a beginner with composing still. I have decided to call it "the world through my eyes".

leo_papandreou1
This is my 4th Wednesday pic and third (methinks last) flower. Gee, what are the chances? I'm not normally this boring, I hope, but I think I must've shot 5000+ plant and plant parts this summer. It was a make-work project to coincide with an academic interest in botany.
Anyway -- a senescing lily of some sort. F6 + 75-150mm E AI-S + 3T, Kodak 160NC. sven keil
Hi everybody,
From what is already posted it looks like the cream of the crop. Well, whike Spain was sweating I headed north to a small island where this photograph was taken.
Breaking photographic rules, for this shot I used the Fuji S5 with Nikkor AF-D 85mm/f1.4 @f2.8, and it did an excellent job for landscapes (not soft at all). Straight from the camera, no extra sharping, dynamic range at 400%.
Regards,
MS
PS: What perhaps seems to be dust are actually birds. Really stunning images so far...

Ian Rance
Once again a great start - I look forward to seeing the rest when I get back from holiday.

For my entry this week I saw this old public footpath leading between the hedgerows and it looked to me almost like something out of a fairy story - the twisted trunks leading to some mystery land.

Rene11664880918
Does anyone know what day is it????

I don't know if to feel sorry or happy. I really enjoyed 2 weeks of natural beauty in Europe and I really didn't feel like bothering with camera equipment, tripod and all that comes with it. I just relaxed and enjoyed all the beauty presented in front of my ayes. I tried to capture as much as I could in the form of snap shots.

Here is one of Lake Lucerne taken at Weggis, Switzerland. Even though it's just a snap shot I still tried to get the best composition I could. I thought about walking to the age of the boardwalk but then I decided not to. Instead, I included it on the shot. Good decision or not?

Cheers!

ShunCheung
Sorry, no images of Clijsters. I am not sure how many of you know that over a decade ago, I used to complie the FAQ for rec.sports.tennis. I was at two tournaments this year: Stanford and Los Angeles, but at that time (merely a month ago), Clijsters had not officially un-retired yet.

Clijsters now lives in central New Jersey, not far from where I used to live. Had I not moved back to California, I am sure that I would have been photographing at the US Open and shopping at B&H this week.
