Don`t ask me why, I`m inmersed on somekind of a "retro look obsession"; I wonder if I`m getting tired of what some people call "clinical" sharpness of the digital cameras or so... I`m missing a lot my oldest gear (LF vintage lenses). Anyway, I find that some things that are extremely difficult to achieve on film are really easy on digital.

My pic today is simply a sepia toned image in NX2. As usual with a D700, 24-70AFS at 52mm. (1/250 - f2.8), 14bit RAW, exposure compensated by +0.7EV. In this kind of pics I use to check the hystogram to get a proper exposure. All camera tricks off (image adjustments).

Please feel free to post your PiC oF thE WeEk, taken with Nikon gear. ThAnK YoU aLL !!.

jeannean_.
Wonderful Wednesday is here and as usual, great photos so far, with many yet to come! I received my Sigma 150mm macro lens last Thursday, so I spent many hours crawling around on the ground roughing up the knees and elbows (plus getting numerous insect bites) photographing all manner of bugs and tiny flowers, and had to go into "manual mode" all the way. Someone told me macro photography was hard and they weren't kidding! I couldn't decide which one I liked best, so finally decided on the one that surprised me the most. My first reaction, was..."a Christmas ornament!". This is an Ixora flower stamen enclosed in a drop of water from a morning shower. The sun hit just right for the starburst effect. (D40/Sigma 150mm/hand held... while not breathing. ;-)

Rene11664880918

Here we go again.

I just came back last week from a 2 weeks work/holiday vacation and I got too many pictures to work on. I also arrived just on time for the Summer festival in my city and it just added more pictures. I don't have time to work on them all and I won't have time to take new pictures during these following few weeks. So I will be posting old shots but fresh from Capture NX.

This is St. Vaclav Square at night, in Prague. It's like the main plaza on the central street. Beautiful place. People walk there 24 hours a day. First I didn't think much of this shot but last night when I opened it on Capture I really got to like it so here it is. I hope you guys like it. Cheers!

Ian Rance
Well, once again I am genuinely inspired by what I have seen already. Last weeks thread has been viewed several times by myself and you should all be proud of yourselves. Is this the most sucessful weekly photo thread on the net? I would wager that it was.

OK, now to my entry. This shows Lulu - a cat that moved in with us after wandering lost on the streets for weeks. We found out subsequently that she had been very badly treated in the past and was just saved from being drowned with her kittens in a sack.
Lulu does not mind having her photo taken, BUT my Father (who was holding her here) thought it a bit funny and was giggling. Lulu knew she was having a monkey made of her and her look just says it all! Nikon FM3a, 20mm AF-D @ f/4.

ceesmaas
Morning everyone,
It's a beautiful harvest again this wednesday, as i can see above. On the last day of my holidays, a seagull was flying besides the ferry boat. The bird showed a kind of strong determination. As if he knew for sure his direction home. With the windy clouds against the blue sky, the greenish water of the sea, and the Dutch isle of Terschelling on the background, it was a delightful moment for a guy like me. No direction home.
