A happy Wednesday to you, Nikon people. Winter's still toying with us here in the Mid-Atlantic area, and this week I stayed inside to get caught up on some web content projects. Tuesday evening, it was a quick go at using studio light to produce a morning sunlight feel for a product shot. A spot of tea, anyone? It's loose English Breakfast from Twinnings and a high-tech, but devilishly reflective gold-plated infusing widget. Used your Nikon gear to shoot something that chases away the February chill? Share a photo!

00YBVv-330163584.jpg.72c953a4d38cb888ed91b2ea05ec8d0a.jpg

The truck is on blocks and as you can see it sits where moisture drips on the windshield. I converted the shot to B&W and then painted in the Budweiser sign. I didn't find out until later that the sign is lit during the eventing hours. I'll go back sometime in the coming months to get that shot.

00YBW4-330169584.jpg.a3f4b584eb30c232512c1ce355202032.jpg

WedNEsDAy PiC 2011 #06

This baby ring-tail possum fell out of a palm tree. I picked it up to see if it was OK. Come nightfall I placed at the base of the palm tree. From what I could hear (but not see) the mother came and took it back up the palm tree.

On Sunday I changed a light bulb in the living room. As I removed the glass lamp shade dish to get to the light bulb I found a dead fly lying in there. So, being a nerd, and having nothing better to do I decided to take a picture of it. As it turned out this fly had been collecting dust for some time. He was quite ugly too...
D3s, 105mm nikkor + reversed tokina 28mm, SB900 fired manually off camera in three different directions, during the 6 second exposure.
