A good Wednesday to you, Nikon crew, and welcome to December (is that even possible?). The colder weather is making some indoor location scouting more attractive. I got distracted watching this watcher watch the fountain in the huge atrium at the National Harbor complex, here in the DC area. It's quite a space. Shooting indoors, or out?
Hello everyone...

As I've never tried studio photography, I went on a course earlier this week to learn the basics. Unfortunately, our model didn't turn up, so we took turns to "model" for each other. It was quite interesting to learn how to control light and create some interesting shots. Hopefully, this won't be my last.

00XmHK-307339584.jpg.ab48a92e168b01db674a1c10b7f2be69.jpg

I left the office a little early on friday afternoon, while there was still some light to make use of. Our region has had temperatures between -10 and -30degC for the last 3 weeks and as a result there are now many beautiful winter scenes to document. This particular scene caught my eye, down at the edge of the marina.

00XmHd-307347584.jpg.6cdcf96618e7a61b39be1d1d65bc6406.jpg

Sea Otter feeding on clams, Moss Landing, California. While I always knew that there are a lot of sea otters along the central/northern California coast, it took me a while to find a good photo location. It turns out that there are a lot of them near the mouth of Elkhorn Slough, near the dock and boat launch in Moss Landing.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend on New Smyrna Beach Florida. There are so many beautiful things to photograph there. I think many bird families gathered there for Thanksgiving, :) Nikon D3, Nikon 80-400 VR, 400mm, F/11, 1/80sec , ISO 400,

00XmJH-307375584.jpg.10aaa3adc5f128c1463366a8d0fa481c.jpg
