In between other duties in the field, I had a chance to slip in some photography at a recent specialty event that involved hunting Weimaraners. This young lady took some time sizing up me and the big camera, and wanted a little comfort from her handler. But as soon as she saw a hunt test judge ride up on horseback, she was on fire for some bird pointing. Used your Nikon gear to capture any shy subjects lately? Bill J Boyd
Hello all. Had a chance to attend the "Warbirds Over Addison" air show last weekend in Dallas, Texas. The surprise attraction was when a B52 made a low level pass. Unable to land, because the runway was to short. Made lots of noise and was a rare sight in Dallas. Image taken with a nikon D80, ISO 400, 300mm lens at 1/3200 and f/5.6.

photo5
Here's one I dug out from my archives...friends and I used to go to the airport around midnight and walk around for entertainment. You can see by the clock that it's nearly 1am. We were all freshmen in college on Winter Break at this time. And of course this part of C Gates is deserted. The airport was a lot funner place to go back in those days than it is now.

liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
I’ve not done much photography over the last two weeks – life has been busy & again I’ve missed commenting. Please forgive my lack of comments.

Photography - I took a few yesterday & this is one of those. It’s unfortunately another macro shot. However, this is shot with the 55mm f/2.8 AiS Nikkor Micro of olden days. I was recommended this lens & I’m trying to decide if I like it or not. I just bought it, but it may well soon be leaving. We’ll see…

D300, 55mm AiS f/2.8 Micro Nikkor, Nikon tubes, onboard flash, ISO 800, f/16, 1/320s (I upped ISO due to wind – I needed shutter speed), -1/3 EV, A mode

A flower in the garden simply put. I shot it from many angles in the wind, but I picked this one due to lovely color & especially how I love feeling like the petal draws me in. I hope you agree.
A larger version in high quality may be seen here
http://lilknytt.zenfolio.com/p750302876/h322ed7fd#h322ed7fd

Sanford
I tried to see if I could go a day using just one fixed focal length lens. I made it through half a day before I really started missing my zooms. D300, 50mm F1.8. I still hate this lens.

adam zyto

Matt, you suggested a shy subject. My bunny usually doesn’t stand still long enough for me to take a shot but this was a rare moment - he seemed to be posing for me on my messy desk. Nikon 18-200vr and spare battery handy if running out, weekend library books, ipod, a drink, half a guitar and my pet bunny “King”. Life is good.

andrew_fedon
Just happened to up and about early today, so greetings Matt and all, and here's today's offering. Was thinking of going for one of the small jobs with a single spinning prop, but liked this one to much. Taken on Saturday, was taxying out for departure to Athens. The crew seem to be wondering what the heck I'm doing there ! Don't worry, I was in a safe place and he's about to turn to his right. I may find out who they were and send them some prints out of courtesy, i'm sure they'll like them.

D700, iso640, 1/400, f/14, at 300mm on the sigma 70-300, cropped.
Matthew Brennan
This taken last Friday morning on the way to work out of my vehicle window. Frosty paddocks and a red hot sunrise on the distant horizon. The light only remained good for max. 90 seconds then it was gone. This is the second of two shots I got away after a lens change, the colour was rapidly fading away for this exposure.
