Happy Wednesday, Nikonville. I'll try not to over-do the bird dogs, but it's spring training season for the upland dogs, and I love to be out photographing them while the weather's still nice and cool.

This shot had me out on a foggy gray morning chasing around after a gray-as-the-fog Weimaraner while he looked for the quail his owner had put down in a muddy farm field. She ran for half an hour, and unerringly found the trainer's bird bag (complete with another live quail) hanging right where he left it.

She went on point like a good girl, and was a statue until her handler showed up to send her back into the field for something more challenging. She obviously thought a bird in the bag was worth - just like the saying - two in the bush.

Did you take it easy this last week, or did you pick up your Nikon gear and go looking for something more challenging yourself? Share a photo!

00WEUL-236369584.thumb.jpg.b1e66f1939238033cd7b148c8601b24c.jpg

Hi all - getting in early today.

A simple shot from a recent trip to South Australia. I was playing around with the reflection of an old/ruined wooden pier in the sand at Willunga Beach.

00WEUY-236370084.jpg.9f6ab70636f9afe71d834b6aaa55209c.jpg

I’m still really only having time to do Reversed Macros at home. Too many pets & with Kyrie being a puppy & now a third horse I’m really busy from morning to night.
This was shot a few days ago. I happen to love how it turned out, as I again played with focus point & dof. It’s what I hoped for & I love the tones of this one.
So – another Reversed Macro shot with the D300 & the legendary 50mm f/1.2 AiS reversed. ISO 400, Manual metering, on board flash as fill, f/16, MF, handheld, 1/320s. The flower is an annual, a Osteospermum. It came down to either a flower or a spider. I opted for a flower again.
I hope you'll enjoy. :-)

Happy Tuesday from Seattle! Great images so far.

Bogdan, yours really tells so many stories and very well captured. There is a richness to film I don't know if I have ever seen in digital.

My contribution was from a recent shoot with a friend. A couple of technical issues here, but I liked this one, because I think that it captured her spirit...that's what it's all about anyway, right?

00WEUx-236371784.jpg.19755a1448b76ceac829d6bd1907f847.jpg

I've been remolding a house in a very expensive neighborhood. All the homes have over 1 acre of land and are worth up to 6 million. Several mornings around the same time I would hear and see 3 Geese fly over the house I was at honking up a storm. We don't have too many Geese in Florida. I was wondering what lake near by they were coming from. I was hoping one day to find them and get to photograph them. Monday morning as I drove through the neighborhood I spotted them out on a small lake. I turned around and parked grabbed my camera and jumped a small fence and started to sneak up on them. Well they stayed around long enough for me to get several nice shots of them. The hunt is as rewarding as the capture. D3, 80-400 VR, 270 mm, F/10, 1/400 sec, ISO 640 Shot in raw pp Photoshop Elements.

00WEV8-236373584.jpg.5348a824037fba472a85183a61ce0c50.jpg

The chip shot at ground level. My camera was about 1.5 m from the club face at the point of impact. Manual focus was used. After many attempts this was the best result. Even though the shots were “low speed” I never felt comfortable.

Good Wednesday morning for everybody! (It is 7.35 AM in here.) Already a fine and varied collection in this thread. The first images that caught my are are Bill`s, Bogdan`s and Paula`s, even though I liked so many others too. Because I`m on a tight schedule right now, I must return to this page at a proper time and comment many others.
My humble snap arrives from the last spring, hence our spring is way behind the images that are posted in here and for example the lakes are still ice covered. To me, I have had quite enough of the ice and snow and wanted to post something bright and full of spring. Here it goes, hope you guys and gals like it. :-)

Lil, you're going to hear this a lot in this thread, but that is a spectacular photo. The focus, the colors, the water drops...all of it jaw dropping. Your patience with the macro technique is really starting to pay off.

Um, ok so now that I got that out of my system, time for my photo. Did a lot of shots of colliding water, you know the really common stuff where it flattens out and everything. Those were cool and all, but my real faves were the shots where something other than flat splashes occurred, like this one. To me, I see two boxers slugging it out.

00WEVX-236379684.jpg.1252c04517ae1652a2f02b82d7353464.jpg

Hi everyone,
Been away a few weeks traveling for biz. Was in Seattle, Washington last week and found time to visit the Space Needle. Built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, it stands over 500-feet tall, with a rotating restaurant and indoor/outdoor observation decks. Took many shots of the city and sunset over the Cascade Mountains, but also got some cool shots of the needle from below at dusk.

00WEVy-236383584.jpg.c6bf34b71899b2f623d4a849a5b84e86.jpg

Hello Everybody,
firstly thank you Vineet and Tiffany for your comments on my photo last week.
My contribution this week is from a photo-shoot I had on Saturday, I was photographing Laura (an aspiring model), we did few set-ups and when she was changing between shots, I saw her beautiful tattoo and asked her to pose for me for some impromptu shots. I liked the photos very much and she did too.
Have a lovely week everybody.
