Matt Laur
mportant: please keep your image under 1000 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. This forum's moderators are allowing up to three Nikon Wednesday images per week, so share some work! OK, have had enough of the cicadas and their deafening all-day romance buzz. Had to call in the cavalry. There's really no way to shoot these millions of 17-year-cycle critters that hasn't been done a thousand times over, but perhaps you good folks have something to share. Go!
ShunCheung
Lifeguards on jet ski in Santa Cruz, California, patrolling the well known surfing area Steamer Lane. Nikon Z6 ii + 500mm PF lens via the FTZ adapter, 1/1250 sec, f5.6, ISO 220 The Z6 ii turns out to have pretty good AF, certainly more than adequate to track the surfers and the jet ski. ShunCheung
Z6 85mm f1.8S 1/125th f10 iso 100 Nice picture but I find the shadows distracting. I assume this was captured on a table inside a restaurant, so that you didn't have much control of the lighting. ShunCheung
Yep, I had to work quickly with a makeshift reflector before the plate was whisked off to a customer. Robert, thanks for the info. It is a beautiful dish with nice color contrast. I am well aware that food photography is challenging. Hopefully you can reshoot it with more lighting control and less time constraint.

rodeo_joe1
Z6 85mm f1.8S 1/125th f10 iso 100 Backlighting is perfect for food pix. Brings out the shine in 'jus' and suchlike. So shadows are almost inevitable - and they add interest to what would otherwise just be blobs of colour on a white ground.
