Matt Laur
Important: please keep your image under 1000 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. This forum's moderators are allowing up to three Nikon Wednesday images per week, so share some work! With the usual seasonal busy-ness leaving the camera in the bag for the last week, you know that means: Wayback Wednesday. My random folder selection this time around brings us to the foggy cliffs north of the Veneto plain, a few miles from Asiago. Wander into the wayback this week, should you wish, or share anything you please!

tonybeach_1961
Rancho Murieta, California I'm thinking about putting a 20x30 inch print of this one on the wall: I think part of its allure is the level of detail: Pretty impressive, I think, for a $90 lens that fits in my front pocket. Along with my D800 and remote shutter release I als0 used a CC40M filter which effectively doubled the exposure time and brought the red and blue channels so close to the green channel that hardly any WB adjustment was required to get to daylight colors.

tonybeach_1961
Do tell! That 100% crop shows as being TOO cyan, maybe +20C on my monitor. Where are the oranges? That's a color issue, not a resolution issue. Being color blind I'm at a disadvantage when it comes to manually tweaking the colors, which were skewed (in a positive way in terms of noise) by the CC40M filter I used. My mistake at the time, and one I can rectify by just going outside tomorrow, was I didn't bring my WB target and use that with the filter before taking the shot, and that would have given me a reference point to set WB that isn't reliant on my flawed color perception. Thanks for pointing it out.
