Just a quick out-the-kitchen-window shot this week. I was clacking away on the laptop, working next to the window, when this young Cooper's Hawk crashed into a large juniper bush. He was trying to score one of the dozens of local sparrows that use it as a safe house while working over the bird feeder's bounty. He came up empty, but no worse for the wear.

What's out your window, and do you keep your Nikon gear handy for when it gets interesting? Share a photo!

thadley
Good day to everyone and it is quite amazing the variety of images so far and i appreciate them all. Perhaps something is in the air because I have chosen to put up one that i took a little while back that is different to my usual submissions. It was raining and I was in the tropics and there was this floor fan with its protective cage and I decided to see how I could photograph it. My submission is one of many 'tries' of that floor fan.
