Good Wednesday to you, Nikon folks. It's a busy time of year, and I have to get the fun stuff mixed in with the work stuff. This week, it's from an ongoing project with a dealer of fancy trucks and trailers. We ran ourselves out of light at the end of a long day shooting last week, so I metered for the sunset sky, and dragged the shutter out to a third of a second. I used PWs to trigger some speedlights for the interior of the trailer and to sparkle up the outside of the rig to show some texture.

Sometimes running out of light is a good thing! Had your Nikon gear out in the dark? Share a photo!

00Zbvu-415987684.jpg.c6f2d37dd7e8bc6cc4f69d69a8211c4f.jpg

a few weeks ago I scanned in a lot of my old work from film. This is one of my favorites.
No EXIF data back then so I don't know which lens or the f stop, but I'm pretty sure it's 1/60 s since it was flash. Film was TMAX 100. I used three lights (Novatron 500 Ws kit). Main light was 7" reflector positioned above her head (paramount lighting). Fill was probably an umbrella. Third light was a hair light, almost certainly a 7" reflector. Background was black velvet.
This printed pretty well in the darkroom, but it is MUCH easier in LightRoom. I can do my dodging and burning ONCE and then make as many prints as I want by pressing a button. Yay!

00ZbwF-415999584.jpg.eb05828ab8e7dc3aea612098b31e50b4.jpg

Many thanks to everyone who commented on my image last week. For this shot, I followed a class of preschoolers and their teachers as they went exploring in the forest on a surprisingly pleasant November day in Oregon. The intent was to capture a little of the kids' sense of wonder in nature. But really, just getting them to hold still with their discoveries was an achievement!

00ZbwJ-416001584.jpg.02f6dc53ec6c72d4058ffe9da5dc87b0.jpg

Morning Nikonistas
Interesting stuff!
One from Remembrance Sunday. The formal act of remembrance over and the bulk of the wreaths carefully removed and on show inside the adjacent hall, a solitary wreath being left as a mark of respect on the War memorial to the Fallen.

From a day trip to Yellowstone National Park, just a few days before the summer roads closed for the season. There were very few other visitors - such a contrast to summer. My grand vista photos were taken with my Pentax 67. My D80 w/ Tamron 17-50 captured this frozen scene in a pullout along the Yellowstone River.

00Zbwc-416011684.jpg.a5f2b7ef2709efc05753fdb2ce07581e.jpg

This was taken in St.georges Anglican Church downtown (Peel st) in Montreal. There were 3 baptisms and the little fellow here was listening intently to the sermon (*_*).
While all of the images are nice but a couple caught my eye: Michael ferron, Christopher Sperry and Martin Z. Thanks to those who mentioned my image last week.

00Zbws-416017584.jpg.7883331e33848d7f96bb613af58e4937.jpg
