Thanks again to all who participate.

I had the distinct pleasure of spending some time in the field on Sunday with a womon whose line of champion English Pointers has all come down from an almost 14-year-old grand dame. We took Uma, who is still up and around on all four paws, out for a walk in a field alive with quail after a hunt test - and the ol' girl still has the nose, the drive, and the good looks. She's a treasure, and it was an honor to be asked to capture her for posterity in what might be her last autumn. Hope that everyone has a chance to put their Nikon gear to such personally gratifying work. Share a photo!

Rene11664880918
I was asked to take some portrait shots which is something I don't do often. Maybe she doesn't know much about photography coz I gave her an A3 print on Epson Matte paper and she was really happy with it. On the other hand I am not coz I found out I really don't know how to process portrait files. I converted to B&W using the trial version of Silver Efex Pro on Aperture.

janahughes
Hello Everybody,
thank you very much for the very kind comments on my photo last week.
Rene, that is a very nice portrait.
This week a portrait from my shoot with an opera singer for her upcoming website, my make up artist created the most amazing eye make up matching the feather collar the model was wearing in colour and in feathery shapes. I added the light effect in post-processing.
Have a lovely week and I look forward to seeing all your photos.
Jana
Nikon D700, 24-70mm f/2.8@ISO 200, f/8, 1/125s

chriscourt
I rescued this little fellow from the pool in the weekend. He didn't seem to mind posing for a few shots before being released in the garden. To give an idea of his size, he could comfortably sit inside my wedding band without touching the sides.

Oh! I forgot to mention in the caption that the lens was on a PN-11 extension tube.

tanay
A local street vendor or Hawker in front of Victoria Memorial in Kolkata. They are very common in these parts of South-East Asia. Their daily life is no doubt tough. And in scorching heat of India they go around from places to places. This particular man was having a rest in front of one of the pillars of the main gate at around 3pm in the afternoon. Good day all. gej_jones

Happy Wednesday!
My photo this week is of the Sydney Opera House, one of the most recognized structures in the world. Contrary to its name, the building houses multiple performance venues. It is one of the busiest performing arts centers in the world, hosting over 1,500 performances each year that are attended by over 1.2 million people. It is also one of the most popular visitor attractions in Australia, with more than seven million people visiting the site each year, 300,000 of whom take a guided tour. I was one of the 300,000 that took the guided tour this year and was completely blown away by all that I saw. It is truly an amazing building! I took this photo from across the Sydney Harbor at around 8:30pm.

As always, I look forward to viewing all of your work. Have a wonderful week!
