Nikon SB-800 Custom Settings Menu

<p>Question for SB-800 users:</p>

<p>Do you ever have trouble getting into Custom Settings menu? As far as I am aware, you hold down the "SEL" button for 2 seconds or so. It seems <em>sometimes</em>, like my SB-800 is a little fiddly going into custom settings. Sometimes it works first time. Sometimes it seems reluctant to respond. It is just one button, so it should not be a complicated operation. I wonder if I am just not pressing the button hard enough or if it could be something else. Has anyone observed this? If so, any ideas for why it happens? </p>

pressure. But after almost 10 years of frequent

use it's my only serious gripe about the SB-800.

<p>Thanks Lex. I was wondering about whether I am just not applying constant pressure. Sometimes it looks like the flash responds like the SEL button was pressed once versus held down. I will try using my nail, and see if that is more effective.</p>

<p>I have two SB800's and yes, the button is <em>sometimes</em> hard to press--it seems to be that way when I'm in a hurry!<br>

Other than that, it's a love affair! </p>
