Nobody will post reliable future product information in forum such as this one, but the PMA will be begin in mid February and there should be a lot of new product announcements in the next 5 weeks or so ahead of the PMA. In fact, Canon and Sony have already announced products in the last few days.

Shun, he is talking about this: (link)

I know that, and my earlier answer applies to Coolpix P&S, Nikon DSLRs, lenses, flashes ....

Nikon tends to replace Coolpix cameras once or twice a year. (Kind of like cars that have new models every year.) If you are not in a hurry, just wait a few week for the pre-PMA announcements and see what new products Nikon has to offer.

I've owned the P6000 for a few months and am very very impressed with it. Image quality for a compact camera is superb, handling is excellent, and build quality seems very good. Don't know why this camera got such bad press, it really is superb and better than any other non-DSLR camera I've ever owned. I was lucky to find one on ebay for $185 including case and extra battery. I've taken it with me hiking and out to dinner and have always been very pleased with the results. The Nikon SB-400 is a very nice addition. Below was shot with P6000 in RAW format converted in NX2. Absolutely no CA when shooting in RAW. Amazing camera.

Thanks Dave. That is very impressive. How is it at high ISO's and how are the JPEG's? Is that a Curtis Jenny? The magazine and web reviews that I've read have been mixed. Most of the user reviews have been very positive. I tend to trust knowledgable users like you more than reviewers who spend a very limited amount of time with a camera. I think you have to live with a camera to really get to know it.

I really try not to use it above ISO 400, anything above that is pretty poor really. The JPEG's are superb, really nice looking. Certainly if you pixel-peep they are over-sharpened, but there may be a way to lower the default sharpening. But overall I am really happy with this little camera. I carry it with me often and enjoy not carrying the big D300 all the time (though I still use that often too).
