  4. As much as I love my D200/D300/D700, the D1H is often my favorite. It has a character all its own. I do wish it had come with a lighter-body twin sometimes. Finding aftermarket batteries with reportedly better life than the originals helped a lot with usability.

  5. I have my battery modification with recent cells replacement. Much better life in comparison to original one.
I've never shot lanscape with this old man. I'll try to take it soon and see how it works.

  6. Before I bought the aftermarket ones, I resorted to using a Quantum battery-pack and cable. Works well, but looks funny (got laughed once at by someone in a car on a trail road while hiking in the woods. ;- )

  8. Yes, I like the color rendition very much, and also the B/W tones. :)

  10. Does this count as old school?

Finepix S5 Pro, which is a D200 body with a Fuji sensor. The lens is the 35mm Nikkor f/1.8 DX. I still use this as a studio camera.

BTW, @blurrist I never miss a chance to trash talk the D2H, but your photos continue to prove that even a camera like that in capable hands-such as yours-is capable of stunning results!

  20. I got my D70 in late 2004 and have many wonderful images from this camera. It convinced me that film, at least for me, was obsolete. I never went back! 16x20 smokestack1.jpg
