Brian1664876441
This is a scanned version of the Feb 1973 Pop Photo lab test on the Nikon F2. Pages are posted in .jpg and are big; ~1M per. I made them this way so that they are suitable for printing. Use photoshop or other program to shrink them for viewing. I will leave them on my storage for ~1 month.<p> <a href="http://mywebpages.comcast.net/brianvsweeney/nikonf2_1a.jpg">1st Page<a> <p> <a href="http://mywebpages.comcast.net/brianvsweeney/nikonf2_2a.jpg">2nd Page<a> <p> <a href="http://mywebpages.comcast.net/brianvsweeney/nikonf2_3a.jpg">3rd Page<a> <p> <a href="http://mywebpages.comcast.net/brianvsweeney/nikonf2_4a.jpg">4th Page<a> <p>
Brian1664876441
The camera tested is an early F2, but not one of the first batch cameras. I have one of the first 1,500. There are very slight differences in its construction; like no steel inserts on the strap lug, slightly different wind lever, and a few others that make you do a double take. jim_gifford
Brian, that was delightful reading, thanks. The very first sentence in the review shows how much the world of camera bodies has changed in 30 years. Nowadays we think of the F2 as a rock-solid and simple manually controlled camera. Back then, it seemed pretty darned complicated.

scott_warn
Thanks and Kudos. One thing that is interesting was the price, 659.50, in 1971 dollars that was a lot of money. PS - Nice job of scanning, the file size was a perfect compromise.

Brian1664876441
Thankyou Mike. I will be scanning in some more old reviews in the future. They are too valuable of a resource to let go into oblivian.
