Nikon F100 won't power up

<p>My Nikon F100 suddenly will not power up when turned on. Checked and replaced batteries and cleaned contact points. Any suggestions what might be wrong. Thanks for any help</p>

<p>I had a similar experience some years ago. I left batteries in the MB15 and that was the problem. I cleaned the contacts and still it didn't work. I had to partially disassemble the MB15 battery holder in order to properly clean the contacts, that did the job.<br>

I hope you have not left the batteries inside the camera itself, because it's much harder to clean the contacts inside the camera. I believe that will probably cause the problems.</p>

<p>I would go out and buy another new set of 4 AA batteries and try again, just to eliminate the battery factor.</p>

<p>Look up inside of the battery chamber on the body, chances are one of the contacts has some corrosion. Easy to clean it off and should do the trick.</p>

Hello, I know this is quite an old thread, but I have the same problem. I tried a new set of batteries, cleaning contacts in the battery chamber and getting new Nikon MS-12 battery holder and nothing helped.

Any idea what could be the culprit if not batteries?

With new holder (MS-12) and a fresh set of batteries (both regular and rechargeable Duracell) and no apparent corrosion in battery compartment I am experiencing the same problem on a F100 unit today (no power on when turned on), any update on this subject please?

Check the polarity of the batteries. Be sure you have inserted ALL of them in the correct way. All it takes is one battery pointing the wrong way, and no power.
