Michael R Freeman
"What can I do?"

Replace the screen. Which probably means finding a dead EM or FG (they share the same focusing screen) as a donor body.

Black around the corners could possibly be cleaned by removing the screen from the camera (it's probably mirror pad foam goop). Scratches on the other hand are permanent.
Mike Gammill
If you can find a donor camera and do the work yourself it might pay off. If sending the camera in for servicing, the cost will probably by higher than what you could buy a clean used EM for.
