milkav
I just got a d7000 (love it!!!) but when I tried to import raw/nef files into Lightroom 3 (version 3.2) it couldn't read the files! Not sure whether I am doing something wrong. Any suggestions??
linda_roina
You need Lightroom 3.3 for Nikon D7000.
ShunCheung
Right, the D7000 is too new such that LightRoom 3.2 does not recognize it. Get the release candidate (RC) version of LightRoom 3.3, i.e. 3.3 RC until the official 3.3 is available.
2dhouse
Alternatively, if for some random reason you don't wish to update lightroom, you could always run a script that changes the camera tag in the meta data from D7000 to any other Nikon body say, D300 or something and the RAW files should read fine. It's really as simple as lightroom 3.2 has never heard of the D7000... silly but true.
michael_middleton
I also have a d7000 (love it), and newly purchased and updated to 3.3 Lightroom, but still states for NEF files "Preview unavailable for this file" on import screen, and "could not read preview" when I double click on image to bring it to full-field view. Any hints? Thanks - Michael
