hh253
HI I haven't used the camera for one year and reloaded the battery. The AF don't find the focus and goes forward and backward and seems slow. In manual the camera works perfect and I can release. Somebody had the same problem? Thanks Heinz
Rick Helmke
Battery has plenty of power, fully charged, yes? What are you focusing on? A flat wall with no detail in it will give AF fits but if you try and focus on something with texture in it and decent lighting it should work well. This was a problem with early AF systems and seems to still be an issue, not as bad as it once was but still problematic at times. Rick H.
Andrew Garrard
It's this behaviour with more than one lens? AF-S or screwdriver focus? I'm wondering whether the lens has got a bit stiff lying around - though there are lenses I've not used in longer.
ShunCheung
Check your settings. I would set the camera to AF-S (single) instead of AF-C and use the center AF point only to see whether that works.

Battery is fully charged and there was enough details for AF.

rodeo_joe1
Try cleaning the electrical contacts in the body. They may well have got oxidised during storage.
hh253
Thanks for all replies. Now the autofocus works, but I cannot release. It shows always err, when I press the shutter.
