e.yujuico
I updated my firmware today from 1.6 to 1.7 and my Nikon MC-EU1 remote will not work. The camera turns on and works just fine without the remote plugged in. The camera says it is Firmware 1.7 so according to Nikons readme it worked, however, my remote does not work. I can see that the camera is in "standby" mode and just waiting for the remote to be clicked to signal the camera to turn on. Ironically, I bought a new battery for my remote today so I can rule out a bad battery. Has anyone else had this problem. This is my first post so if it is to the wrong thread I apologize. rich815
Just curious but what benefit is the update supposed to provide? Was 1.6 buggy?
rich815
BTW, I just checked at www.nikonusa.com and they show no firmware update available for the 995. My 995 is firmware 1.6. Where did you find 1.7 and what's updated? Thanks.
e.yujuico
Courtesy of Peter iNova's Digitalsecrets.net http://www.digitalsecrets.net/secrets/breakingnews.html A year after we reviewed the CP995, Nikon has released a maintenance Firmware upgrade V1.7 that addresses our largest complaint, the too-warm response to incandescent light that the Auto White Balance provides. Nice to know that they are still thinking of their prior customers. Today you can download the Upgrade software for both Windows and Macintosh platforms from the Nikon European site. For Download go to Nikon UK's site.http://www.nikon-euro.com/nikoneuro2/download/Download_121.htm
e.yujuico
Well according to Nikon "USA" their cameras are "slightly different" than the UK models. So they suggest not uploading that firmware unless your camera is from the UK. He had no info on when or if there was a need for a USA firmware update. Shame on me for not checking into this :-( It seems as if thats the only problem I have encountered and I do have the rollbar with my standard shutter release cable so I will make do :-)
