stephen_york3
I know this rumor has circulated for a long while, but now both Robert White and Nikon Singapore list this scanner as discontinued.
david_littleboy__tokyo__ja
In Japan, the 9000ED is available as a special order item at the larger
stores such as Yodobashi Camera, and is listed on the Nikon web site as a
current product. At the current exchange rate, it costs about US$3700
(Ouch!), and that's without the glass carrier.
http://www.nikon-image.com/products/scanner/scoolscan_9000_ed/
kelly_flanigan1
Our 2nd Nikon 9000 scanner came in via Fed Ex last week.

It was bought new in the box from a camera dealer in the Midwest.

It is a factory sealed box; here was what was inside:

Yellow coupon

"win a $1000 Nikon Shopping Spree!"
www.nikonusa.com/register

backside :

******Sweepstakes STARTS 1/1/08 and ENDS 4/30/09*****

This points to the new in the box scanner was probably boxed up by Nikon about about 2 years ago

ANDRE; if your find this thread did your new 9000 you got last week have the same yellow card and OLD dates?
kelly_flanigan1
The Plot thickens!

The sealed Nikon Box was inside a perfect outer box with a 4/10/10 date; and scratched out routing codes that my new scanner was in Japan last month; and air shipped to the Midwest camera dealer.

Thus this scanner was not old stock in the Midwest; but was new in Japan in April.

Thus I wonder how many New Old stock Nikon 9000's are in Nikon Japan; or are they just using register cards with old dates?
