Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S Discount/Rebate

<p>In case any one is interested, the price for this lens on Amazon is currently $2,296. This is the first price reduction I've seen on this lens so far.</p>

<p>Robert, thanks for the reminder. This is actually part of a Nikon lens-only rebate through March 1, not exactly a permanent price reduction. Since Nikon's fiscal quarter ends at the end of March, I wouldn't be surprised that they may extend it by another month to the end of March, but most likely the price will go back up to $2700 after the rebate period, unless the Japanese yen depreciates significantly.</p>

<p>Another issue to keep in mind is that they may run out of stock temporarily due to the rebate.</p>
