<p>I'm searching for manufactures data on LF lenses and can't find any link for Nikkor and Fujinon

Lenses. Google can't help me (or atleast I'm not able to surf through all that 1000s of

pages:)<br>

I had some Nikon's PDF but have lost it somewhere, and nothing from Fuji. Anyone know some

URL?</p>

<p>Tnx<br>

There don't seem to be any manufacturer sponsored English language websites. There are some unofficial ones:

Nikon by Carey Bird: http://homepages.tig.com.au/~cbird/nikkor/niklf.html

Fujinon lenses by Kerry Thalmann: http://www.thalmann.com/largeformat/fujinon.htm

Fuji lenses by The F Stops Here: http://www.thefstop.com/equipment/new/fuji.html

The best source for Fuji Info is Kerry Thalman's site:

http://www.thalmann.com/largeformat/fujinon.htm

He also has various fuji catalogs as well other catalog from Calumet and another distributor with useful info:

http://www.thalmann.com/largeformat/brochure.htm

The Fstops has a very useful table that includes discontinued Fuji Models:

http://www.thefstop.com/equipment/new/fuji.html

Finally there is a aol website that bills itself as the ultimate Fuji Info website:

http://members.aol.com/subgallery/

For Nikkor info the best site is Carey Bird's site:

http://homepages.tig.com.au/~cbird/nikkor/niklf.html

The Kerry Thalman site has a table on Fuji serial number, but according to him its almost impossible to glean any useful information from those numbers because they are not sequential. Each model was given a "lot" serial numbers that they used until the lot ran out, then model was issues a new lot of number of numbers almost at random.

The best way of dating Fuji Lens seems to be to look for certain lens barrel and shutter characteristics.

Older (probably single coated unless it says EBC on the inside of the barrel) Fuji Lenses have the Model number stamped on the inside of the lense barrel.

Newer (and probably EBC coated) lenses have the model number stamped on the side of the lens barrel.

The very oldest lenses have Seiko shutters.

More recent (say late 70's ) models have rough serrated edged chrome dialed Copal shutters.

Models from the 80's to early 90's have Copal shutters with smooth gnarled gray dials.

The newest Fuji Lenses are in Black Copals almost identical to the one's used in the 80's.

You can also date you lens sometimes by it's filter size.
