So just ordered a new 14" 16 GB RAM MacBook Pro from Apple. I do have questions concerning NIK software and compatibility with the M1 chip. I found an update dated Oct. 1, 2021 that says NIK 4.2 will run on M1 with Photoshop, but not native. I'm a little confused about this. I have an older MacBook Pro from 2014with an older version of NIK functional - I don't want to be jumping between two machines tu use NIK.

Will 4.2 work on my new MacBook Pro without workarounds? I intend instal the latest version of Adobe Photoshop and ACR. I generally do not use Lightroom.

Thanks

release notes for 4.2.0 from DXO claims it is native on the M1. HERE. But to download the 30 day trial you will loose the version you already have installed (unless you have a back up of the original installer).

Otherwise the workaround is Rosetta or standalone.
