    OK Here is mine:

    Camera/lens: Yashica Electro 35 GS/Color-Yashinon DX 45mm f/1.7
    Film/dev: Ilford HP5 Plus @ 800 + Ilford DDX
Exp info: Shot wide open (i think) in aperture priority mode. The light was so low that I had to adjust the horizontal orientation of the cam so that the street light falls on the non-TTL meter of the cam. Flare could have been avoided/minimized, but I decided to keep it. Shot handheld.
Time/place: Around 10PM/Toronto (East York), ON

  6. I have some more color I'd like to post, and a little black & white. For now I'm observing the rule to limit to 3. Depending on participation, maybe I could post more later. Otherwise, I'll save them for W/NW.

  7. hello all. i'm new here. thnaks for letting me post. ignore my sub in the duplicate thread;) these are from an ongoing series - 'urban nights'

  8. ok, folks -- I am really, really happy we have such a huge participation but I will have problems to disply all of your images in the gallery. Here's what I'll do -- I only use first three of your uploads for the digital gallery to solve the problem. And your uploads to photo.net as much you like -- sounds good? thank you so much all.

  9. My Entry #2, choice inspired by most of the other recent ones...

    London (in case you had a doubt ;) -- Canon 10D w/17-40mm L lens, f/6.3, ISO 200 @ 1/13 sec., hand-held (yes, call me crazy).

  10. maria - sorry i missed the 'limit 3' post. you certainly do not have to use any of mine. just nice to get them out there.

  11. I thought those were the rules, up to only three submissions for each person. Somebody cheating?? (Haven't parsed everybody's pics yet)

  12. I missed the "3 Per Person" Rule as well. Sorry guys.

I must say though, that everyone is getting such good stuff out here that I wouldn't mind seeing everybody's best!

  15. I really wanted to enter a Leica shot, but I don't have the time to scan the four negatives and develop the five that are sitting here behind me :(

So, here's my film entry. Rolleiflex, Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar f/3.5, TMax 400 in Diafine rated @ ISO 800, hand-held.

  16. Canon PowerShot G5. Photographed in complete darkness. 15 sec. exposure. f/8 ISO50. Single handheld flashlight as only light source. Completely unmanipulated. Straight from the camera.

  17. I do not understand where I should post, so I will post here. The camera is minolta autofocus something (I do not remember because I borrowed it for that day). The lens is a standard very cheap zoom lens 28-100 wide open. There was a festival. When is the closing date of the contest so I can post other photos???? <p>

  18. OK, couldn't resist, must have this entry... ;)

During a farewell dinner for a friend going back to France, we saw a mutual friend's jazz group play at "the Dakota", in Minneapolis.
    Leica M6, Tri-X @ ISO 1000, 50mm Summitar f/2, hand-held.

  20. Sorry, that should read "Drum Player" not bass player. Got paged as I was typing.

  21. Looks like Al Kaplan just hit a homerun! Amazing picture!

  22. I agree with Bee, Al's photo is amazing but I don't understand the homerun comment, looks more like a 1950's B-movie, The Night of the Living-Dead Camera.

  23. Cool store scene while waling the streets in Milan.

  24. Try again.

  37. Lutz, see my many comments above ... ughm, all right, all right. I can't go to Europe now, get you in October.

  38. .... and your last one is a big wow

  39. Thanks, Maria. Sorry for causing trouble. Had the thread open for hours on my laptop before posting. Missed your posts in between... Looking forward to meeting you in Europe. :) Seriously!

  40. uhmm, thank you Lutz but it can't be your country because you guys don't make drinkable beer, maybe Praha :0)?

  41. Maria, a) you haven't tasted Turbinenbru from Zrich (Turbinenbraeu from Zuerich, for the umlaut-challenged...;-), b) Praha would be a nice alternative, almost as nice as Plzen, c) we could compromise halfway and meet at the Oktoberfest in Munich...?! Cheers!

  42. Turbinenbraeu? No, never tried it. It does sounds like a good name, for a submarine ... OK ... I think I should stop teasing you. Oktoberfest in Munich -- yeah, that tops any beer anywhere. In fact, I tried to relocate to Munich in 1986 for the very reason but was utterly misunderstood by the German government. Oh well, life goes on. I adjusted to local breweries. Thank you plenty for your participation in the contest.
