suzanne_glassman
Hello - Just wondering if anyone has heard of or tried any of the actions created by Nichole V. (see actions.nicholev.com) for color or black and white. From what I've seen and read on flickr.com, they look great and people seem to like them. Anyone here have any experience with them/thoughts? rickvandenberg
They sure look like they oversaturate the color, at least from what I see from the web site.
michaelschrag
I agree with Richard. Some of the posted shots look "cartoonish".
nichole_van
Thanks for your comments, guys. Yes, the actions do saturate color, but that is all highly adjustable within the action. The actions give you complete control over the final outcome of the image. You can leave the photo with absolutely no color saturation or saturate the color heavily. The decision is entirely yours. Here's an example of the softer color I'm talking about. The color here is as it was SOOC <a href=" title="Photo Sharing"> Or more vibrant color: <a href=" title="Photo Sharing"> Both shots were edited with the same action, just different adjustments of the layers that the action loads. alex_kinnan
I just discovered these, myself, following a random flickr expedition. In my opinion, they seem pretty cool. Yes, it could be argued that one could do this all in PS, and for free, but quite frankly, I have no idea where to start... To Nichole: I just looked at your website and was quite impressed. The examples in the antique vintage section are especially pretty and I may actually buy that one, budget permitting. I'd actually be interested in all of the actions but, mostly for reasons financial, I will likely start with the aforementioned vintage one. The B&W one is tempting, too, though, as I have not had much luck at doing good monochrome stuff in PS yet... Anywho, I digress; the main point is that I think the stuff looks really terrific, certainly worth looking into.
