l_a_k_h_i_n_d_e_r
Here is news from the website. I wonder if it has already been posted here ..:
Fans of the Rolleiflex 6008 rejoice! Until now Phase One has only offered a P20 for this medium format body. In its continued commitment to open and diverse medium format options, Phase One is now offering Rolleiflex 6008 mounts for all of its new P+ digital backs*.
Worried about locking into any one platform? Phase One recently announced that they will provide a free 3-year Platform Change Guarantee for any new digital back purchased with a Value-Added warranty.
*There is an additional cost of $2990 for a Rolleiflex 6008 AF mount. Prices subject to availability.
erichiss
I'm excited about this since I've got the 6008/p20 and was wondering about upgrade options. I'll wait to see what happens but it looks like it still might be cheaper to go Hy6 than to upgrade the p20. The Hy6 with eMotion75 and 80mm AF lens appears to be about the same cost as the phase p45+ back alone without even counting the additional $3k conversion cost. The great thing is that at least now there are a bunch of options. Hasselblad CF-22 and CF-39, Sinar backs, and now Phase backs for the 6008. All that plus the new camera..... erichiss
Just a follow up on this. I may have been wrong about pricing in my previous post. It looks like it will certainly be cheaper to go with the phase back than a Hy6 if you are considering a p20+ and most likely also the P45+ will be competitive with the Hy6 and 33mpix backs. I've been in discussions with Lance Schad at Capture Integration <lance@captureintegration.com> and he's been extremely helpful so far. This is a real solution for Rollei 6008 shooters. Lance has been working hard with Phase to make this solution competitive with the other options including the Hy6. I've no connection with either Phase or CI but have been really happy with the phase p20/6008 AF combination that I shoot with now and will consider Phase when it comes time to upgrade. patricio_san_martin
Hi all,
If you want to see samples, please take a look at the first aerial images captured with my Rollei 6008 Integral II, Rollei Planar 80 mm. Rollei DB20P (17MP) digital back. All images were shot under AE mode (Automatic Aperture and Shutter speed due to vibration and low light conditions). The ideal shutter speed for aerial is more than 1/500 and of course a gyro from Kens Lab.
The images looks good but has some motion blur from aircraft vibration if you zoom in.
I just adjusted brightness, contrast and semitones a bit.
They were shot in the raw IIQ small mode and processed into jpeg in Capture Pro. As TIFF they are 96MB. JPEG 17MB.
The images over the snowed mountains, the aircraft were shot with a Rollei 50mm.
http://www.photo.net/photodb/member-photos?user_id=6081895
http://twitpic.com/153spa
http://twitpic.com/14wsma/full
http://twitpic.com/14wsma

Yo can try here http://twitpic.com/photos/PatSan_Martin if you want to see better resolution images.
If you want to see the one of the end results, a georeferenced orthorectified mosaic of 400 images (colour looks a bit akward due to some limitation of the complex process to achieve this mosaic).
