New "toy lenses" for E-mount, Q-mount, and Micro Four Thirds

<p>New "toy lenses" from SLR Magic: Micro Four Thids gets a pinhole, Q-mount gets a 60/1.4 (equivalent), and E-mount gets a 42 (equivalent) with interchangeable apertures for different bokeh shapes.</p>

For Q mount let me say "who cares" but is the E mount 42 equivalent (28mm presumably) likely to be a good lens? The E mount 16/2.8 is relatively bad and the 24/1.8 ZA is really overpriced.

It's a toy lens priced at $125, so I don't think we can expect it to be a "good" lens ("good" for most people = sharp, low distortion, minimal flare and fringing)... in fact, it seems like it'll probably be aimed at the Holga/Lomo crowd who want to recreate that "bad lens" look. On the other hand, who knows? Anything is possible.

<p>Bill, if you think the 16mm is bad, then you don't even want to touch that $125 lens. I think its feature of changing the band color to alter the appearance tells you all that you need to know. If you want a well-regarded prime, I'd say to look towards the Sigma 19mm. SLR Magic just rebrands CCTV and other lenses in popular mounts, jacking up the price. $50 is outrageous for a pinhole lens (i.e. lens cap with a hole, no optics to speak of).</p>

<p>Yeah, their prices are pretty high. Does anyone else find their name (SLR Magic) ironic and/or inaccurate? i.e., none of the cameras they make lenses for are SLRs... shouldn't their name be MILC Magic?</p>
