peter_evans4
<p>Good work, but:</p><ul><li>I'm surprised to hear of a "GW670". Are you sure this isn't a misdescribed GW670II or GW690? If it does exist, it must have been for export only, and I can hardly believe that it came out <em>anywhere</em> three years before the GW690.</li><li><em>"Most people believe this lens is similiar to the 65mm interchangable lens for the Fuji G690 camera models."</em> You may wish to put "later (and faster and rarer)" or similar before "65mm". Most 65mm lenses are f8.</li><li>You may also want to mention the <a href="http://camerapedia.org/wiki/Fujica_GW690#GW680III_and_GSW680III">GW680 and GSW680</a>.</li></ul>

www.antiquecameras.net
PS - I excluded the 680 since they are rarely seen outside Japan ( although keh.com has one right now )..
harvey_edelstein1
The Idea of a 3:1 proportions is fine but a 28mm fov is not wide enough for pano shots even the Hassy swc has a 24mm lens on 35mm fov equivalent. I like to see at least 90 degree 21mm on 35mm format before cropping the top and bottom of the picture. What I mean is it has to be more than a moderate wide angle. Now the Mamiya 7 has a great 43mm lens on 67 format and a pano kit too if you want to start with a 21mm equivalent on 35mm format before cropping, and a lot of other MF offer wide angle lenses and some pano options either with pano mask for their interchangeable backs or a pano kit that uses 35mm film inside a MF film chamber exposing a larger than 35mm portion of the film for real Pano shots. I am sure the Fuji takes great street shots at 39 degrees but for pano IMHO there are better ways to go.
sebastien_lallement
Harvey, If you want wide, you'll have to turn to the ancestor of the GSW690 camera. The interchangeable lens G690/G690 BL/GL690 rangefinder cameras can be equipped with a 50mm superwide lens, which offers the same field coverage as a 21mm lens on 135 or a 43mm lens on 6x7. And the big 6x9 negative offers some real estate if you need to crop to panoramic format. See http://artbig.com/lenses.htm Cheers, Sebastien
harvey_edelstein1
Thats better in FOV but very slow a stop slower than the Mamiya which is a true Biogon design. I didn't see what the whole rig weighs but it looks like its hugh.
