jorn ake
I was just in Dubrovnik and saw the new museum of war photography (War Photo Ltd., www.warphotoltd.com,) which currently is running a show of photographs by Ron Haviv, as well as photographs by Claus Bjorn Larsen, Jan Grarup, Yannis Behrakis, Jon Jones, Noel Quidu, Srdjan Ilic, Christopher Morris, Andrew Testa, and Darko Bandic. Subject of the show was recent conflicts in the Balkans. The show was pretty tremendous and the space itself is really an amazing place to see photography. A documentary on the show's original installation in Serbia is revelatory. Wade Goddard, who is a war photographer himself, is running the operation. The museum is on Antuninska in the old city, a couple of blocks over from the Franciscan Church. And if you are there, stop by the Di Leo's new restaurant on Boshoviceva called Dubrovacki Kantun for the best Croatian food in Dubrovnik.
