On Thursday, July 23, the Adorama Gallery will launch its next exhibition, Human Nature: a collaboration between photographers Erica Simone and Jaci Berkopec, with a reception to celebrate the opening. This show celebrates the idea of humanity as an integral part of nature, or, as itself being nature and not separate from it. From the artists’ exhibition statement: “With nature, with the Earth and the heavens, with the animals and with each other, humans share, grow, and create together. Our life is a gift and too often nature is taken for granted. We must re-learn to cherish… our natural world: our true ultimate caretaker.”
Berkopec and Simone are also known for having recently created a philanthropic organization called Curators for a Cause, which focuses on progressive causes such as human rights, social justice and equality, environmentalism and more.
