roncoleman
Someone help please! I just bought a Nikon D70. I am very much looking forward to using Photoshop CS with NEF (RAW) files. I tried to do so this afternoon and didn't get very far. Apparantly Photoshop CS does not understand native NEF as a format. In fact, it seems that Win 2K does not understand it either. I removed the CF card and put it in a reader. (I am storing in basic + NEF) I did a select all and move from the CF to my hard drive. Looking at the folder, the Jpegs moved but the NEF files did not. Not sure why that is! I tried using CS to open the NEF files directly from the card as well. No luck. I looking in the manual it states that only Nikon's Pictue Project can read them. If this true? Anyone else have that same troule? Do I really need to use Picture Project each time I want to use RAW? Anyonehave any idea why Win2000 does not deal with the NEF files either? I do have show all file formats enabled (hidden is turned off) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -ron

kenneth_rhee
If you are using CS2, you can download raw plug-in from here. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3267 For CS, you can go here. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2701 Both should support D70 NEF files. bernard_frank
I don't understand this. To not be able to OPEN a Nef file in CS or CS2 is one thing, to not even SEE the icons in a folder is another thing. I am not familiar with Windows (I use a real computer ;) ) but how can they be upoloaded from the card and then disappear? Do you not see the files from within the operating system as well or only from Photoshop?
